Juan Mata could return to Valencia

The magical Spanish midfielder left Valencia to join Chelsea in 2011, and since moving to the Premier League has consistently been one of the best performers for Chelsea and then Man Utd, despite not getting the attention of other midfielders like Paul Pogba.

At the age of 30, Mata is nowhere near hanging up his boots, but is unlikely to extend his stay at Old Trafford. He made 40 appearances for the 'Red Devils' last season and started their first amtch of the new season last Friday, but with the likes of Jesse Lingard yet to return to action his role in the team may reduce as the campagin progresses.

The World Cup and Champions League winner started his professional top flight career with Valencia at the age of 19 and had 4 successful seasons at La Mestalla, and the 'Sun' reports that the Spanish outfit want him back.

"It is well known Juan is wanted by Valencia. There is a strong connection between the two." a source told the newspaper

"We know Juan's motives are not related to money and there's a very strong emotional attachment to take into account."

With him leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season, 'Los Che' would be able to pay his £130,000 per-week wage demands.
