As a 16 year-old, Odegaard was propelled to international fame when he joined Real Madrid on a six-year contract from the Norweigan league, as he was hailed as the next wonderkid in football.
However almost four years later he has only made one appearance for the Real Madrid first-team.
The last two seasons have seen him spend time on loan at Dutch side SC Heerenveen, and will now join up with another side in the Eridivisie, Vitesse.
The club is well-known for tking on loan polayers for bigger clubs such as Chelsea, and Odegaard will fill the space left by Englishman Mason Mount who joined on laon from the 'Blues' last season.
Odegaard will have some way tobgo to fill Mount's shoes, as he scored 14 goals in all competitions in the last campaign.
