Tottenham are without a series of first team forwards for the foreseeable future, most notably star man Harry Kane, and thus they could be forced to enter the January transfer window in order to fill the gaping void in the side's front line. England captain Kane is out until March with ankle ligament damage, fellow forward Son Heung-min is away at the Asia Cup with country South Korea, while stand in Fernando Llorente struggled to make an impact this past weekend against Fulham.
Therefore, 'Spurs' boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to have turned his attentions to securing the services of West Ham striker Andy Carroll. According to 'The Sun', the former Newcastle and Liverpool forward could make a shock £2 million switch to Tottenham before the end of the current transfer window.
Carroll's contract is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, and with manager Manuel Pellegrini unsure as to whether to keep the striker at the London Stadium, the club could potentially allow him to move on. It is said that Tottenham had also been considering a move for Bournemouth forward Callum Wilson; although after neighbours Chelsea made their interest clear, the 'Cherries' placed a hefty £40 million price tag on the player, which deterred a Tottenham bid.
With their rivals United and Arsenal gaining momentum behind them, Tottenham could be forced to bring in offensive cover, to ensure that they secure a Champions League qualification place come the end of the season.
