Salah is the chosen man to fill Gareth Bale's shoes next season. At least according to the 'Daily Mail'. The newspaper has even dared to put a price tag on the talented Egyptian.
Real Madrid reportedly consider the Liverpool striker as the perfect replacement for Bale, as he can play any position up front and has versatility. Zinedine Zidane's team would be prepared to put 150 million euros on the table.
However, Salah was not the first option for the club. Real Madrid originally wanted Kylian Mbappe, but the Frenchman's price - around 300 million euros - is way above the club's budget.
Meanwhile, Bale is expected to leave this summer. His recurrent physical issues, along with his scarce playing time and diminishing role have meant that his sale could happen in the upcoming months, as long as there is actually a team prepared to pay for his high salary.
Several sports personalities already foreshadow Salah's departure from the Reds. Gary Neville, former Valencia coach and now a pundit for 'Sky Sports' claimed Salah could be leaving soon. "I already said so 18 months ago, he will leave Liverpool".
I think it's simple, in the sense that maybe Liverpool fans don't show their love for Salah. It's about affinity and loyalty. There is a feeling that he wants to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona and that he will take the big step," said the former Manchester United player.
With four months to go before the transfer market opens, Salah is now the second Premier League player linked to a move to Real Madrid, with Manchester City's Sterling also consistently linked to a move to the Spanish capital.
