Tottenham haven't managed to renew Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen's contracts and according to 'Football Insider', José Mourinho has asked the club to anticipate what might happen by signing a CB in January. The player is Ben Godfrey of Norwich.
The British source assures that Tottenham will go for the 21-year-old defender in January, who has played 15 matches this season and been called up to England u21s.
It isn't the first time that Spurs have been interested in the player. In the summer they already went for him but received a no from the Norwich board, although they are now planning to be much more aggressive.
'Football Insider' states that the club lead by Daniel Levy could offer around 30 million euros to get him.
Godfrey arrived at Norwich in 2016 from York City, his local team. The CB arrived at Carrow Old when he was just 18, where they got promoted to the Premier League and is a starter now. That is why the Canaries will not make things easy for Tottenham.
